Ella had to wait today, I’ve just listened to Sarah Vaughan 1957 concerts for two hours on the radio.
Both perfect singers and so beautiful timeless music…

Birgit,
My mother introduced me to both singers. They were amazing.
I am forever thankful for all the music my mother played on her hifi!!

Unfortunately, Jazz in all forms is slowly dying. Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Mel Torme and even the chairman of the board, Frank Sinatra’s music is only hanging on by a thread in college bands and in small ensembles in a few clubs. It’s the only authentic American music.

Bob,
I am always pleased by the number of comments when I post Ella or Frank. The Coffee family fans for both seem a goodly number. At least some of us still hang on to these amazing singers.

Bob, good news, it’s quite alive here. All kinds of Jazz, small and big ensembles and especially in the last 3 years Jazz music got a fresh boost with all the refugee musicians that came to our country and mixed up the music scene. Interesting Jazz times.
