One of Stevens funnier novelty songs. The funny part is that the story not completely far fetched. I could envision it with a bit of imagination.
A number of years ago I lived right next door to a Methodist church I attended. One Sunday on a pleasant Spring day with the church doors open, my durn cat wandered in during a service. Managed to get her out without much of a commotion. And the Methodists are pretty understanding anyway – provided it doesn’t mess up the pot-luck lunch. You can always count on eating good with the Methodists.
Pascagoula is on the Gulf Coast. On the the same stretch of road as Biloxi, Long Beach, and Pass Christian (pronounced chris-tee-ann – emphasis the same on all 3 syllables). Big ship building area. My mother is from Biloxi. You can get a heck of a po-boy down that way.
My parish, St. Patrick’s, was huge. It also had 6 buildings and a grotto. There were two school buildings, the new and the old, a rectory, a convent, since sold, and a house used as a library and a teen meeting area. It was torn down. What it never had was a pot luck.
Thanks for the where as I really don’t know much about Mississippi geographhy.

Funny 🙂
Today’s title quote on KTCC made me laugh too when it popped up in the feed reader.

Bitgit,
This song gave me a chuckle too. As for the quote, I figured I’d do squirrels a good turn for once.
