Betty MacDonald quote

Gosh its hard to remember that ever village and town had a sweet shop. Jars full of stuff ready to give you a sugar fix and destroy your teeth. Maybe just a Lemon Sherbet
I would guess that while you were gallivanting around Ghana petting Crocs and chasing gazelles, you missed Bow Wow Wow and Annabella and this subject appropriate hit

My Dear Hedley,
I totally missed this song. I don’t even know a single Bowl Wow Wow song. I missed them entirely.
We had what we called the red store and the white store. The red store was larger and pretty much had what you needed, but the white store was run by two older ladies who never hurried us when we were picking our penny candy.

Gnu,
I ended up shopping for bulk candy for movie nights. I wish I had some of it right now.

I have a huge sweet tooth and a candy selection like in the photo would make my day as a kid as well today. I adore milk chocolate in any form. Give me M&Ms, Tootsie Rolls, Milky Ways, etc.etc.

Bob,
I too love chocolate. Lately I’ve bought a few Clark bars.
I have always loved Milky Ways and Snickers.
