Gnu,
She was cute.
She became the ambassador to Ghana after I had left. When I went back, I attended a function at the ambassador’s house. There was a pool on the grounds. Ambassador Shirley Temple had put it in.

There’s a movement to get rid of daylight savings but I wish it were kept year round. I like having an extra hour of daylight to go to the pool after work or just go out and enjoy the weather. Mornings can be dark since most folks are just trying to get to work. One year we did 12 month daylight savings during the energy crunch in the 1970s. People complained that school kids would have to wait for school buses in the dark in winter. They do that every winter in places like Anchorage and Fairbanks. Arizona and a few counties in southern Indiana stay on Standard time. In Phoenix no one looks forward to an extra hour of sun when it hits 112 degrees in July. 🙁

Bob,
Massachusetts looked into changing its time zone by keeping daylight savings time. The hope was that the other New England states would follow suit. Nothing has happened in regard to that.
Here is an interesting article:

Interesting. Trump should be a big proponent of daylight savings since only the golf business appears to be the big money winner. 🙂

I also thought it was interesting. I don’t really care way or the other.

Not yet, we’ll have to wait 2 more weeks.
It’s ridiculous that countries switch time at different dates. If the world can’t even agree on this how will we ever solve real problems?

Birgit,
We don’t even have total compliance here with all 50 states. Hoping the world would agree is way behind possibility.
