Too bad that this song is blocked here. One of my old records I haven’t heard for years. Well, I could take the record and listen… Nope, too lazy. Nobody Knows You by Schmidt and Cahn is online and nice too.

On what basis do they to choose to block some songs? I find that curious!

Different reasons. Rightholders / record companies can block, uploaders can choose countries, a badly working YouTube filter, … Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.
This song / recording is probably public domain in your country (50+ years) but not here. Just today I read that the Gutenberg Project internet library blocks Germany now because of 50 years old German books. They were sued by a German publisher. In most cases copyright is lifetime of author plus 70 years here. Crazy laws here and it will get worse. Among other bad laws the EU plans to copyright short text snippets for 20 years which could affect mere internet linking. A corresponding weaker German law was a complete disaster but the publisher lobby still want it so we’ll probably get an EU-wide disaster which will effect the rest of the world too. Meanwhile I’m curious who will wreck free internet first, USA or EU.

Given what is happening in this country in regard to Trump and his Twitter account, I suspect it will be the US. When Trump gets frustrated, he posts changes in policy on Twitter which haven’t been discussed by any departments.

I have no idea the copywrite laws in this country which is probably why I get nabbed.
