Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer: Gene Autry and The Pinafores

I know I’ve been posting a variety of Christmas music, but there is so much to choose from that I figured I’d start in the 40’s and move up. These first two are from 1949. Rudolph topped the pop and country charts that year and was recharted several times in the 1950s. The other two postings are from the 50s’ where we’ll stay for a few days.

When I was a little kid in Brooklyn NY, Ceres 1952, my parents had a friend who worked for Capital records and he gave me this recording. It was a 78 RPM disc that I played every year on our portable Victoria.

      Bob,
I think I had the same record and played it on a kid’s turntable. The kid’s records were different colors back then. I has some in red and some in yellow.
