Banana Boat Song: The Tarriers

I have posted Harry Belafonte several times so I went with this 1957 version that incorporated the chorus of another Jamaican folk song Hill and Gully Rider. Alan Arkin  co-wrote and sang lead.

Nice version, I don’t think I’ve heard it before, the song mix works very well.

This did well and was a top five hit. I also like it because of the song mix.

I’ve just listened to a Vieux Mac Faye concert on the radio, blues and more from Senegal. Vieux Mac Faye is new to me and it was fun to listen to his music. Have you heard of him?

No, I haven’t heard of him. I enjoyed him and his music!
