Kat, I wish I could track down who it was that played horn on that recording. The “edgy” sound really makes the otherwise too-smooth accompaniment just right for the lyrics and the quality of the singer’s voice. It sounds to me like that horn is overdubbed on the track. Gorgeous!

You’re right. The French horn was dubbed in later as a prominent component of the song. That was all I could find about it.
I don’t know why, but I knew all the words to this song. I have to think my mother had it on a record.
