The girls with their buckets were a familiar sight. Most times they went to the village and filled their water bucket at the pump. I had running cold water but the first shower in the warming had warm from the sun on the pipes. I hurried to wash quickly to take advantage of the heat.
Filled buckets lined the walls of the bath area. They were always filled as the water was often turned off for no reason
