I figured making cookies during the war took a bit of ingenuity with the rationing and all. My mother mentioned using lard instead of butter. Yuck!

The only homemade cookies I like are Toll House, chocolate chip cookies. Otherwise, give me Oreos every time.

I love sugar cookies, orange cookies and most especially anise cookies. I wouldn’t pass up an Oreo.
