More or less, the Allman Brothers are considered second most famous of southern rock bands. Of course, Lynyrd Skynyrd sets the standard and it’s a high one.

Spaceman,
Now you’re talking bands I know. It never occurs to me to think of bands by geographic region, maybe because I don’t know where most of them are from.

It’s not typical to sort bands by geographic region, but there is an acknowledged set of bands that are commonly referred as Southern rock bands. Marshall Tucker, ZZ Top, Charlie Daniels. Never thought much about why that is.

Spaceman,
I know bands from around here. In the 60’s the Cape spawned The Barbarians and their wonderful song “Are You a Girk or Are You a Boy?”We did move up from The Barbarians to Aerosmith, Boston, The J. Geils Band and , of course, Boston. There are boy bands, but I’ll just skip them.
