I swear my mother got up at the crack of dawn to put the turkey into the oven.
That’s a lot of garlic. I like the mixture which goes under the skin.
I think that turkey looks a bit pale.

The 1943 was interesting for me. I knew she had to have used lard in the crust which makes the flakiest crust. I wondered about the other ingredients-whether they were rationed or not.
