Spaceman,
Okay, I do like Hank Williams Jr. You have to stop choosing country singers I like. I’m losing my I hate country persona.

When I lived in Chattanooga, the city put on some free summer shows. Saw him downtown on stage in the middle of a gravel parking lot. Plenty of byob beer and whiskey. Heck he played till midnight – crowd kept shouting him back to play more. What a great time we had

I think laid back crowds and almost spontaneous music make for a wonderful evening. You get to clap and smile a lot!

Well, laid back might not be the best description for a Hank Jr crowd. Raucous and loud, and a good many folks drunker than skunks would be a much more accurate accounting. And then everyone knows ALL the words and the choruses got plenty help from the audience.

I’m thinking they would seem laid back given the difference in behavior of people seated in a theater listening to a concert. I always liked the outside ones where you sat on the grass, had a picnic and a few drinks!
