You can live for years next door to a big pine tree, honored to have so venerable a neighbor, even when it sheds needles all over your flowers or wakes you, dropping big cones onto your deck at still of night.

I woke up early for me, tried to go back to sleep, couldn’t so I gave up and headed downstairs. I started the coffee then went outside for a bit. The day is much cooler than yesterday but no less lovely. The sun is summer bright, a squint your eyes to the light bright. The birds are in and out of the feeder. While I was there, I decided to water the plants on the deck. I noticed the nozzle was leaking and tried to fix it. I never checked in which direction the nozzle was facing so I was taken aback when the water hit me full force on the legs. My pants were soaked, and I felt silly.

My phone and my wifi wouldn’t work this morning. The TV did which seemed strange as I thought all three were connected, but then I remembered the TV has its own box. I noticed my modem, which is the phone and computer connector, didn’t have enough lit buttons so I tried to reset it. I couldn’t find anything thin enough for the hole. Finally I used a twisted paperclip. It didn’t work. I tried it again, and it actually worked the second time.

If things come in threes, I’m in trouble.

Nothing is on my dance card for today; in fact, I have only a doctor’s appointment later in the week. I don’t mind unscheduled days. I figure I can find something to keep me busy, and the day is open should an invitation come my way.

My car has disappeared; instead, a pile of pollen is parked in front of my house. It has the shape of a car but no distinct features. The horrible part of all of that is the pollen has just started. I think I need to wear one of those white face masks.

Much cooler here today than predicted but it could have been worse so I’m not complaining. The web site prediction for tomorrow and the tv prediction, made by the same comapny are very different 🙂 It might be anything from around 71F to 80F tomorrow depending on which one is right 🙂

I had computer and printer problems today, I managed to solve the printer problem, at least for a while but the computer problem is a mystery. I moved my internet stick to my other laptop and for some reason it doesn’t work. I did the same thing last year and it worked very good 🙂 The only help I got from the laptop was to go online to search for a solution which really didn’t help since I couldn’t go online 🙂

At least the water just hit Your legs 🙂 With my luck I would have been hit in the face 🙂

Lots of pollen here too but not as bad as You have it thankfully. I’m having some odd problem with my left eye, it is as if I had plastic foil in front of the eye every now and again. I can wash it away for a while but it comes back again and I’m pretty sure it has to do witrh pollen since it is a bad pollen year. I’m going to the optician on Friday so I hope ´something can be done about it. I would have been worried if I wouldn’t have been able to wash it away but as it is now it’s just irritating 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Christer,
When my computer acts up, I use my iPad to help find the solution. I’ve been lucky as so many others have the same problem.

I’m amazed it was just my legs and not my face as that would be my usual luck.

You can see clouds of pine pollen fly when the wind blows. My deck is so covered I leave footprints when I walk on it. All the furniture is also covered, I want a heavy rain to clear everything away.

      Have a great evening!

    Hi Kat,
Yes, the pollen fallout is heavy up here as well. I rinsed my red jeep off in the morning and by noon it was yellow again. Me breathing without wheezing and/or coughing is not going to happen for awhile.
I got a surprise hosing myself when I hauled out the hoses for the season. One of them has a pistol type sprayer. When I turned on the water and pulled the trigger on the spray head, the water came out the sides of the thing in 6 separate streams. Three of them were facing me.

Yesterday was apparently so hot here that the heat built up inside my closed jeep and blew a hole through the left rear passenger window. It wasn’t knocked in. It was blown out. I cleaned it all up and called the insurance company. Can’t fix it until Wednesday. I taped up the remains as best I could. I was going to risk driving it today until I remembered that it was three years ago on Memorial Day weekend that I had a serious, expensive accident.
So I stayed home with the dogs.
Not that I’m superstitious or anything. Just careful. Besides, it was Piki Dog’s birthday. 🙂

    Enjoy this blessedly cool day.

      Hi Caryn,
I figure washing your jeep is a futile task. It will keep getting covered. I’ll have a pollen covered car for a while. I really do hate this time of year.

I felt dumb when I got soaked. Why didn’t I even think of checking it?

You needed to be home for Piki Dog’s birthday or he’d have felt neglected. I’m guessing you saw the broken jeep window as a warning. I wouldn’t blame you. That’s the first time I ever heard about heat breaking a car window. I can’t imagine how hot that must have been.

Today got chilly enough that I put on a sweatshirt. Yesterday I had my AC on all afternoon and last night. Today had only a window or two open because of the chill and the pollen.

      Have a great evening!
