Today that boat wouldn’t meet anyone’s safety standard and would be a plaintiff’s attorney’s dream. No one today would go out on the water dressed like that.

      Bob,
That is a famous Boston swan boat which first took to water in 1877. The boats still reappear every spring, during the second week in April. The ride is on the lagoon of the Public Garden. The boats are pedal driven. There are six of them, all the same design as the originals. The boats range in age from roughly twenty to over ninety years old. The oldest boat in operation was built in 1918 and the newest was built in 1995.

People don’t dress up so much anymore to ride the swan boats though they would be dressed were Easter to be on the opening or after the opening Sunday.

When I was young, a rite of passage every spring was a ride on the swan boats.

Heck, I thought The Dead was going to cover one of my favorite World Party songs. No such… luck? So here for your listening pleasure is one of my all-time favorite groups, ex-Waterboy, Mr. Karl Wallinger and his band, World Party, trying to make sense of things back in 1987. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Xf7dQjf8G4

        im6,
Above is my attempt to figure out the answer to this problem. I posted the video link by itself and it worked. I guess that’s the way to do it. The comment can be made separately before or after the posting.

      im6,
Such a happy little ditty, a spirit raising ditty!

The graphics for the video were great. They perfectly set the mood for that song, which I did like. I know like isn’t the verb I want. Enjoyed doesn’t work so I’ll have to stick with liked.
