“Fatigue had started to set in…and now my eyes showed it as I struggled to keep them open.”
Yesterday I had to go out. Gracie needed her heart medication, and I needed more cough syrup. The God of parking blessed me as I got a spot right in front of the drug store. I crossed the road, went inside and dragged myself to the back of the store to the pharmacy. My head was a ball of sweat (sorry for the graphic details. I should have warned you). After paying for her pills, I decided to adopt Gracie as my daughter so she can have an insurance card because the pills were almost $70.00. My medicine was far cheaper.
I had a couple of other errands on my list, but when I got back to the car, I crumbled the list and drove home. Today I am exhausted.
My friend left tomato basil soup and snickerdoodles on my front step yesterday. She, of course, knows the house is under quarantine or at least it should be. The soup was thick and delicious. It will be my dinner again today.
I’m about done here, I’m taking a sick day.

Christer,
I just woke up from my nap. It was about three hours long. I figured I needed it.
Fresh squeezed orange juice I have so I’m throwing that down and hoping for the best.

The more you can take it easy, the faster it’ll be over. Sending you healthy thoughts…

Hi Kat,
I wish I could adopt my dogs as dependents and put them on my health plan. They are healthy enough at the moment so they haven’t cost much apart from Piki Dog’s Cadbury Mini Egg binge. Sometimes I consider purchasing pet insurance for them but that’s wicked expensive, too. If they offered a family plan for people with more than one pet, it would be an incentive.
The weather here is breezy, warm, mostly cloudy but with periods of sun. It’s black walnut falling time. There is an irregular but steady thudding of walnuts onto the lawn and the roof. Sometimes one will bang off the gutters. I need a hard hat to go out in the back yard.
Sorry that you are still dragging yourself around in the throes of plague. Tomato basil soup is very therapeutic as are snickerdoodles. Repeat the dosage and get well quickly.
Enjoy the day as best you can.

Hi Caryn,
Luckily she only takes half a pill a day so it lasts a long time-good thing. My cats have each needed a visit to the vets in the last six months, but I can’t complain. This is their first visit in 15 years. I did set up senior physicals and blood work for both of them.
I was out on the deck for a bit today as it was so warm, and I needed fresh air. The sun was here only for a bit this morning.
Tonight it is chicken soup. Given its powers, I should be well tomorrow as I am really tired of being sick. Everyone who’s had it tells me lasts at least a couple of weeks. I could scream!!

Get well soon, OK? I think “bugs” are like injuries as we age. They take much longer to shake. Been there.. done that!

Thanks, Jay
I’m feeling a bit discouraged right now. I do one thing around the house and I start sweating despite the size of the task.
I have to go out today for animal food and am dreading it, but the cats need more food as they’re not thrilled with the cans that are left.
I figure I’ll go this afternoon after a build up my strength nap.

Kat, I caught the cold, though I don’t think I’m as bad off as you. I have the deep voice and the bad cough. I missed work yesterday, left early the day before but I’m in today.
I feel your pain about pet meds. My dogs’ monthly medications are ridiculous. $110 for Adequan injections, $100 for Rimadyl, $25 for Gabapentin, Four Heart worm chews (they’re so big they each have to take two), two Frontlines. Then they have food allergies so they have to eat Taste of the Wild which is about $100 monthly for the dry and $30 for the wet. Then there’s grooming, treats, toys, regular pet visits. Marley the Cat is a bit easier, but suffers from Asthma and has had a couple of pet emergency visits which cost as much as my monthly mortgage. Jamie and I haven’t taken a vacation together since we went to Bermuda in 2004. But we love our pets and want to keep them comfortable in their old age. My next puppy or kitten I am getting pet insurance.

Erin,
Everyone who has this version says it lasts for at least a couple of weeks. I know the cough is getting better as I don’t gasp for breath when I cough. Anything I do makes me exhausted so I do little.
Maddie is on meds for hyperthyroid. She just had an old cat physical. Fern has hers in December. They both have been to the vets in the last few months but haven’t ever been before this. The dog’s well visit is always close to $300.00. Maggie had a $10,000 bill at Angel Memorial because of her heart issues. She died a month after coming home, but I dutifully paid everything off.
