I found that really interesting. Latrines in Rome or anywhere in the ancient world were not something I ever gave thought to. If asked to guess, I would have said holes in the ground.
The smells of the public latrines I have experienced as we could smell them a block or two away in Ghana. Only dire need had us use one. They were disgusting.
I can see the Roman baths as being social but not the toilets, not the latrines. I’d want to be the Emperor with my own latrine.

I didn’t even know England once had a This Is Your Life program. I remember the one in the US and used to watch all the time. The elementary school teachers gave me a chuckle.
Now your Moody Blues makes perfect sense!
