Sad news for your pink deck flamingo. I just read that Donald Featherstone, the father/creator of the plastic pink flamingo ornament has died yesterday. Perhaps a plastic fish or Hawaiian music will cheer your flamingo up?

      Birgit,
Oh No!! I am not even going to tell my flamingo who has a long summer on the deck in front of her. She has a wardrobe for each of the holidays but nothing in black. Maybe the Hawaiian music and some ukes will help.

      Gnu,
I remember the opening. It was crazy and memorable.

The closing wasn’t as familiar though you’d think I’d remember those hats..

When Michael wasn’t being serious, he was creating more craziness. Even won the first music video Grammy for Elephant Parts, from which this little ditty comes:

        im6,
Wow! If I hadn’t seen Mike I wouldn’t have known who this is. What a great video, disco aside. I totally understand why this won a Grammy. It is unique and, as you said, crazy. It holds up superbly well.

      Gnu,
I’d forgotten this song. I like it a lot. He was fine by himself, watch cap or no watch cap.

I finally watched the first episode of the second season of True Detective last night. Music is curated by T-Bone Burnett and it made me want to listen to his music when it was good. Hope you enjoy this version:

      im6,
When T-Bone won an Emmy for Brother Where Art Thou, I went looking for his music as I really didn’t know any. I bought that soundtrack. I totally enjoyed this version!

And T-Bone made me want to hear this one by his ex-wife:

Boy, it took me a while to find info on this device (The pinterest links were easily available, but nothing informational). Because of the uniform that the listener was wearing, I thought…WWI soldier? Finally I found http://www.douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/COMMS/ear/ear.htm. There it is, along with several other devices. But to see the big bawahnza, go to https://www.pinterest.com/pin/443886106997476294/

      J,
I love all the devices from the first link. You did a great job in searching. I don’t know which would be my favorite as they are all so outlandish. Some look like the horn people used to hold up to their ears but in giant versions. I chuckled at the woman sitting on the ground and listening. he Pinterest shot is wonderful as are the boards below-thanks for this. I got quite a chuckle to start my day!!
