Beautiful song. I told you I went to Israel last December. The high point of the trip was that about a dozen people from the tour group were selected by lot to be locked in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher from 8 pm to 11 PM on Saturday night for meditation and prayer. There a very small number of nuns and monks inside, but vacant otherwise. It is very large structure and has maybe 4 floors if counting the underground floors. A number of areas were in various states of refurbishment. At 11 pm it was opened back via giant wooden double doors and there was a stream of orthodox (Russian, Greek, Armenian) priests, nuns, choir to set-up for midnight services. All clothed in traditional garb; it was a wonderful sight to behold!

      Spaceman,
I went looking for some Easter hymns and this was on the list. Luckily iTunes had it. When I heard it play, I knew it was the one.

I love old churches with their high vaulted roofs, the stone walls and most of all the silence they seem to engender.

      That sounds wonderful indeed!
