“That’s the worst way to miss somebody. When they’re right beside you and you miss them anyway.”
There is no post today as I am going off Cape. When I get home, depending upon the time, I will try to post. If not, I’ll see you, so to speak, tomorrow.

Did you get transported to the Cape say 200 years back and are riding around on a horse (or a Croc) being chased by red coats ?

My Dear Hedley,
Nothing so exciting as a trip back in time-no, wait, it was a bit of a trip. I met my friends Bill and Peg for lunch. We were posted together in Ghana. My sister Sheila came as well so we told some great Ghana stories-back in time for a while.
No red coats!

I hope no one died and you have to go to a funeral. That was my first thought when I saw the first part of the title quote.
Hmm, no 6 o’clock (my time) music, you are on the road…
What would be appropriate KTCC music?
Perhaps “Traffic-Light Lady”:

Second song? Not “Traffic Jam”, it shouldn’t be a bad omen.
Dear coffeeholics, any suggestions for a second song?

Birgit …While Kat’s away, you and I will play . Its Easy Peasy

Hedley, I might have guessed which song is hidden behind the link. I actually had listened to Iggy singing Sinatra’s “One for my baby and one for the road” before, but -you know- it’s KTCC and I wouldn’t dare to post this link

And, no, you don’t have to listen 😉

MDH,
I’m glad you and Birgit had some fun today. You know I have no problem with anything you post, even one I’d never post mostly because I don’y know it.
I know the name but this is the first iggy I have ever heard.

Birgit,
I met my friends for lunch; the three of us were in the Peace Corps together. We met half-way as they live in New Hampshire. It was a lot of fun until the trip home.
It usually takes me about an hour and a half at most to drive home, but not today. NO, NOT TODAY. The traffic was so bad it took me three and a half hours. I was crazed. I do not blame you as you avoided Traffic Jam.
I haven’t ever heard this song or heard of the singers. I see where out was released while I was in Ghana. I like it-thanks!

How about Cross Town Traffic by Jimi Hendrix?
August 7, 2014 at 2:46 pm
Annie – Genius suggestion, James Marshall showing up on KTCC, I thought Jimi meets Lulu is the greatest of all time, hope you don’t mind its not cross town traffic
August 7, 2014 at 3:59 pm
Annie, Jimi’s Crosstown Traffic is the perfect choice!
Btw, Erika Stucky made a great cover of this song and other Hendrix songs, but I can’t find her Crosstown on YouTube. (Either it’s not there or just blocked in my crazy country.)
Jimi and Iggy on KTCC – Kat will be surprised 🙂

Thanks, Annie. I hadn’t ever heard of this song. I’m listening to it now on YouTube. It is difficult to believe how long Jimi Hendrix has been gone.

MDH, Annie and Birgit,
Yup, it is a surprise. I posted a Jimi on my first blog and it got taken down which is why I haven’t posted him. They don’t mind YouTube, but they do mind free downloads.
August 7, 2014 at 3:55 pm
Hedley, Jimi can sing the phone directory & it would be fine by me!
I love the Lulu clip, it was so edgy & dangerous for it’s time!
August 7, 2014 at 6:46 pm
Annie, I was actually watching the Lulu show, Saturday night on the BBC, when it happened. Hendrix blew up the whole thing, and they were trying to unplug him. I especially liked Lulu’s protests about how much she liked “Hey Joe”

OK Birgit and Annie, lets hope that Kat has an easy ride home on say the motorway…or maybe the 2-4-6-8 Motorway….A KTCC first via the hijack, Iggy, Jimi and now TRB

Gnu,
I was out there among all those cars with their brake lights lit for as far as I could see in front of me.
I can’t remember the last time I heard The Moody Blues. This song remind me how much I liked them.

PS Gnu,
Thanks for helping to fill in!

Gnu,
I enjoyed your bored song-it gave me a few out loud laughs.
Thanks!

It was the worst ride home in memory. I figured I’d be home by 4:30, but by then I wasn’t even out of Boston. A trip which takes an hour and a half at the most took 3 and a half hours.
This is a great song!

Katlander, Tom Robinson had one sensational album, Power in the Darkness, and then he didn’t.
August 7, 2014 at 7:33 pm
MDH,
I hadn’t ever heard him before this. I will do a hunt for the album. Thanks!
August 7, 2014 at 7:10 pm
MDH,
I just downloaded this song. Thanks!!

Birgit, Annie and MDH,
You three did a great job with the perfect theme. I should go off more often!!
