I’m not really a James Bond fan, but I love this song and saw Goldfinger several times. Gert Fröbe as villain is great, he was one of our best actors.

      Birgit,
I agree about this movie. From the theme to the end it is one of the best Bond movies. Gert Fröbe was wonderful.

      • Hedley Says:

Loved Burly Chassis, loved the song, loved the movie, Shirley Eaton was smoking hot, the Fountainbleu Hotel looks great, the Aston Martin is supreme, Odd Job is incredibly naughty

      • katry Says:

        My Dear Hedley,
Odd Job is my favorite. Not an expression was ever on his face as he sent that hat sailing.

Best of the James Bond Movies. When Honor Blackman tells Sean Connery “I’m Pussy Galore” that was the statement of the decade.

Not sure where the version you posted came from. Here’s the original. The one I know and love and the one I find vastly superior.

      im6,
You did it to me again. I always want the best version, and when you offered this, I went hunting. I found it then downloaded it, edited the blog entry so this song is the one which plays then went to Box and uploaded the new version, got the share url and went to the comment, deleted the old upload number and put in the new one for this song.

All the while I am watching syfy and the 15th top sharks. Some of the commenters admit the films are both bad and funny. I’m enjoying this.

      Thanks!

      • im6 Says:

Hate to tell you, but… the player doesn’t play either version now! Oops!

      • katry Says:

        im6,
I am listening to the song now from the player. The problem has to be on your end as I haven’t a problem.

        im6,
Sometimes the browsers get finicky and won’t play the slide. I have had to go to Firefox a couple of time a while back as Safari wasn’t cooperating.

Now it’s working. Is there a full moon? Seems to be glitch night. It’s probably just this damn heat! You would H.A.T.E. it!

    • katry Says:

      im6,
      Is this Gaslight?

      • im6 Says:

I don’t understand the question. So I guess the answer is probably “no.”

      • katry Says:

        im6,
Haven’t you ever heard of that movie? It’s a great one with Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman. He is her husband, and they are newly married couple who move into her childhood house where an aunt had been killed. Strange things begin to happen and Paula, an heiress, begins to suspect that her husband is trying to drive her stark raving mad.

      • katry Says:

Gaslighting became it own vocabulary word and refers to emotional abuse and manipulated situations meant to make the victim unsure of anything; her senses and her instincts are questioned by what is happening.

  4. im6 Says:

I’ve heard of Gaslight (I believe I may have even seen it about 40 year ago), but I thought your question had to do with full moon/glitch/heat (I think it’s a matter of comments crossing paths at the same time without seeing them in order). Apparently it was the “web of sin” reference that reminded you of Gaslight. I’m not that clever.I was just quoting part of the lyric from Goldfinger.

      im6,
It referred to your e-mails: you were writing about the slide not working and the page not loading then came e-mails that everything was all right. I figure it was a gaslight attempt to drive me crazy with on again; off again; on again.

  5. im6 Says:

I’ll try to avoid e-mails then. Crazy is such a short drive — often right around the corner. 🙂

      Im6,
I’d hate not getting comments or suggestions from you. The crazy part, as per the movie, would be me sinking to the morass of insanity. You would be quite sane and tricky.

      • im6 Says:

It’s quite possible we both belong in an asylum. But we’d be such great company for each other talking music, books, movies, and the way things used to be. As long as they kept you well fortified with coffee and me with Dr. Pepper, it might not be so bad!

      • katry Says:

        im6,
        Great plan!!

It would be so easy there. I love it!!

  6. im6 Says:

Any excuse to post a topical song… Here’s a terrific cover of the Gnarles Barkley song:

      im6,
I don’t even know this song. I love the lyrics and the laughs every now and then. It is a perfect choice for our discussion.
