“Swollen in head, weak in legs, sharp in tongue but empty in belly.”

Today is a bit overcast which won’t deter a single vacationer. Yesterday Route 6, the mid-cape highway, was bumper to bumper because of the cars trying to get off at the Dennis exit and the other cars trying to merge where two lanes become one. The line of cars on Route 134, a local road, was endless. I found the traffic mind boggling.

Today I will not muse. I am taking the day off. Around my eye is even more swollen. Yesterday I could feel the swelling and see it in the mirror. Now the swelling is like an overhang, above and below my eye, and I can see it when my eye is open, no mirror necessary. The itching continues. It is spreading and getting itchier as it spreads. I did go to my doctor yesterday. I got a good laugh when he felt the lump near my eye and I could see a pondering look on his face so I asked him what he was thinking and he said, “I was wondering what the hell that lump is.” He gave me two medications: one for the itching and the other for the swelling. If it isn’t better by Monday, I’m supposed to call so he can see me again. I just hope I can see him.

See you tomorrow I hope!

A rather wonderful day over here, just enough warm with just enough humidity. Perhaps one could wish for a breeze but I don’t feel it is necessary. I’ve had strawberries and ice cream so life is good 🙂

I do hope that swelling goes down, it’s never fun to visit the doctor, especially when he too wonders what it is 🙂

    Have a great day of!

      Christer,
I was actually chilly and took a nap under an afghan. I’m felling better, and the itching is much less so the pills are working. The swelling doesn’t bother me anywhere near as much as the itching.

You also have a great day.

    Hi Kat,
Sorry the weird bump is causing so much trouble.
If the itch still bothers you and you are up for a trip to Walgreens or CVS, Vagisill Wipes do wonders for itches other than what they are generally used for. I use them when I have been bitten by too many mosquitoes. Kills the itch almost on contact. Just don’t get it in your eye.
Hope the bumps and swellings and itches are all gone soon.

      Hi Caryn,
Thanks for the hint. I used an anti-itch cream which burned my face too much so I had to wash it off; however, I think the pills are beginning to work.

All seems to be better. The eye swelling is down.

  4. Sorry you’re feeling rough, Kat! Believe me, I can sympathize. If there’s a biting insect within a kilometre, I’m the one they seem to have a craving for.

This is the only song I have that fits in with today’s theme. (Guess all that dancing fueled their appetites – for dessert!)

    😉

      Marie,
I don’t know this song at all, and I love it. You chose perfectly. I can see all those insects conga lining across my cheeks.

I tried to control myself, but simply didn’t have enough restraint. Seriously, how could I NOT share this? Get well!

Oh, dear!! I’m tempted to post “Boris the Spider” by The Who, but I’m not sure it’s on YouTube, and I don’t know how to upload to your site. Get well, OK?

      Jay,
That would be another nice touch to my misery! Thanks-I’m working on well
