I play this song even when it’s not a holiday. It simply has it all… great beat, HANDCLAPS!, saxaphones, killer background singers and that no-holds-barred dynamite vocal. I didn’t know she’d done anything else, but YouTube sure proved me wrong. Take a listen to just about any of these: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Wendy+Rene
Well, that’s just pretty darn wonderful. I’ve heard many of his Christmas parodies, but not any non-holiday songs. Much better than Weird Al, if you ask me.

im6,
I played it after my barbecue musings. I knew it would be perfect.
These are unbelievable. She has a voice that kills. I went to e-music and they had only one other song, not an album just a song. I will keep looking.

gnu,
A perfect choice with the storm coming, or maybe coming as it hasn’t started raining yet.
This is such a great song! I haven’t heard it in a while, thanks.

I keep forgetting how much I like(d) The Doors. If they cancel her 4th of July parade, maybe Kat can organize a Soft Parade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_1DhUABr2U

im6,
I’m with you in liking The Doors and not playing them near enough. I can’t remember the last time I heard Soft Parade, decades I suspect.

gnu,
I love the sizzling sound which opens the song.
The guy who wrote this was pretty clever.
