Shelley’s version is a cover of a song originally done by Georgia Lee. Shelley’s version also features backup by The Blossoms, featuring the mega-talented Darlene Love, who is still going strong today. Georgia’s original version:

Kat, if CBS has a lick of sense, they’ll make sure they get Darlene booked on the Stephen Colbert show that’s replacing Letterman. Which means I’ll watch his show at least once. I personally think she’d be a better match for Jimmy Fallon. He does some *amazing* things with his music guests.

I agree about Jimmy Fallon. He’d love having her. I used to watch Letterman, but now I’m a Jimmy Fallon fan. You are so right about the amazing things he does with his music and non-music guests.
