Also a favorite of mine. This song brought me back to listen to Tom Waits. I had neglected his music for some time. Too much good music around.
I’ve had lots of interesting music today, the free International Music Festival is back this weekend, just a few bike minutes away. Today singer and bands from Anatolia/Turkey, Greece and Chile/Kongo/Germany and a nearly 2 hour concert by Habib Koité from Mali, along with Kenyan food and fried plantains 🙂 Be sure I wont miss tomorrow’s concerts, Raï music, Tuareg blues and more. Perhaps with Palestinian food?
Birgit,
I am a huge early Waits fan but his voice has gotten far too gravelly of late.
I really like Habib Koité and kelewele which is fried plantains with some spices. I am jealous of your concert and your food. I don’t know Palestinian food unless it is Middle Eastern like tabouleh and hummus.

Kat, I’m with you on the Waits gravel. Wish I could still download this one. Been too long away from the fold.
