My Dear Hedley,
I went to e-music and listened to clips of songs from this album and liked every clip I heard. You convinced me, and the album is downloading now.
I remembered this song as soon as it started to play. I didn’t remember it was Madness though.
Did you download “The rise and fall” or “The liberty of Norton Folgate” ? = guess it doesn’t really matter as both are tremendous.
AS it happens, Mrs MDH and I were listening to “Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da” on the way to Costco on Saturday, which is not their strongest effort but we were saying there is always one or two really wonderful tracks
This song brings back memories of my last year in school. It was very popular back then, not to say unavoidable. I had forgotten that it was by Madness. One of the better 80’s songs, nice to hear it again.

By far their most popular song, certainly “over here” and its from the very good “Rise and Fall” disc.
The band reappeared a couple of years ago and produced a wonderful record called “The Liberty of Norton Folgate” ,well worth your time.
Great singles band, some terrific albums and every now and again a masterpiece.

I downloaded “The Liberty of Norton Folgate” as that is the album from which I heard a few clips. E-Music didn’t have The rise and Fall.

For what it is worth “we are London” is my favorite track, closely followed by the title song. MK II and On the Town.
Check their website http://www.madness.co.uk they will often give a few live tracks for your listening pleasure

Birgit,
This seems to be a popular choice for today-I’m glad!
