Nat Cole’s voice was incomparable but he is mostly remembered for this song. Anyone who starts smoking today should think about haw many great performers were cut down in their prime from lung cancer.
My favorite is “That Sunday, That Summer.” I can’t even explain why I like it so. Memories? Nostalgia? The song’s sentiment? Something makes it extra special and just hearing it stops me in my tracks every single time.
im6,
Sorry for the delay in answering but WordPress and I have become pen pals. The comments weren’t getting to me, and I was missing them so some didn’t get replies. WordPress made some suggestions and one of them seemed to have worked. All the comments have arrived today including this one.
I too love that song, and part of the reason is Nat himself. He fills his voice with emotion that I can feel.

Bob,
There are so many Nat King Cole songs that I’d say were favorites of mine.
This was probably one of his most popular.

I agree 100%! One of my favorites is the duo with his daughter, “Unforgettable”.
