When The Leaves Come Falling Down: VM

Thanks to im6! The full name isn’t here as I think I had one of his songs taken down so I figured I’d disguise him.

From the very uneven “Back on Top” from which my favorite song is “Precious Time”

Next week a deluxe edition of Moondance is hitting the shelves with a 5.1 surround version and 3 discs of outtakes from the original sessions

Van’s shows are very predictable in length if not in content. If he is lazy you get Brown eyed girl, Gloria and Moondance, otherwise it could be just about anything. He comes out sets down his watch and gives you exactly 90 minutes including the Gloria encore. Last time through Detroit he was on a no drinking no smoking thing and demanded the same from the audience at The Fox – Be in your seats at 7.30 or you wont be seated and we were on our way home at 9.00

I love Van, and I am buying Moondance

      My Dear Hedley,
I am generally afraid to post him as I think a song of his was one of the reasons my Blogger Coffee was erased. It’s been so long though I figured I’d give Van another chance.

I too love Van, but I think a too predictable show is disappointing. Some songs I would demand while I’d like to be surprised with others.

As we were walking out of the Fox we heard someone say that it couldn’t be over as he had not played “Brown Eyed Girl”.

it had been a big evening for me as he had played both St James Infirmary and St Dominic’s Preview (whole lotta Saints). Guess some folks go for the hits and some folks don’t.

Waiting anxiously for Amazon to tell me that the Super Deluxe Edition of Moondance is on the way.

That is probably the first song many people heard of Van’s so there is a sense of nostalgia.

Careful, Kat. As Hedley points out, VM is notoriously cranky. Whether he’s more cranky than NPS, I don’t know, but I suppose it’s worth the risk for such a beautiful song. He’s already been very, very vocal about his displeasure at the release of the Moondance box set. Surely has to be about money and not the quality of the songs since that album is such a classic.

I used initials instead hoping his robo-searcher won’t find me. At least NPS wrote me directly instead of WordPress. I’ll take the risk for this lovely song.

He’s my favorite musician of all times but I had warnings from his legal beagles before so stopped posting his songs. Perhaps if you used the same method as you do with P,P and M. Love this song and used it last week on a playlist.

I changed to initials hoping to fly under the radar. I’ll let you know if I succeed in being devious!
