Gotta beat Birgit to the punch… this is a remake. The orchestration is obviously different and Ben E. King sang lead on the original:

In my hurry to be a smartass, I forgot to make a comment about what a great, great, great group The Drifters were — at least during a very specific period of time during the early 60s. Up On The Roof, Under The Boardwalk, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Save The Last Dance For Me… as they say around here, “Don’t get much better than that.”

        im6,
I don’t know why you think you had to hurry to be a smartass-slowly works just as well for you!!

No question how great they were!!

      im6,
      Me??? I’m confused and clueless.

Sorry, Birgit, I meant Marie, but I had you on my mind because I’ve been meaning to tell you I really can’t recommend any music blogs. I have SOOOOOO many bookmarked and sort of surf around. There’s one I enjoy reading, but it’s so poorly designed and hard to read (you’ll see if you follow the link). It might not be your cup of tea, however, since it mainly focuses on 60s rock and roll hits: http://forgottenhits60s.blogspot.com/

        im6,
        Marie makes sense.
Thanks for the link, yes, a little bit confusing at first sight but I’ll keep browsing. Let’s see…

      im6,
The first one I posted was a remake but the current posting is the original. I made the switch a while back when Marie sent me the mono original.

She did beat you to the punch!!
