I know you are disappointed, My Dear Hedley, that it isn’t Lennie!

Disappointed is an understatement. I saw the Nun, read the narrative, there was a gap waiting for music and I am thinking ..it has to be Lennie. I was considering a Lennie free for all, but that was perhaps to be tempered by the arrival of his birthday on September 20th.
Now I have to ask, who the hey is Lena and why is she brutalizing my boy Lennie ? A horrible version of such a Little Fluffy Clouds classic.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Austin, Texas, im6 is coming up with a ridiculous Bette Midler version. I mean how much restraint did I have to show yesterday over im6’s wanderings when I posted Kirsty ???

Now You’re just mean 🙂

Christer
So you are telling me that Lena is an Abba-Swedish babe ? She ain’t no Lennie, she isn’t even half a Freda
You and I were having a perfectly happy Kirsty afternoon and im6 introduced that old buzzard Bette. And as mean as I am (and that is why I am paid the big bucks) I behaved relatively well. 🙂

I have absolutely no idea who she is 🙂 I found some info on the net 🙂 I haven’t heard this song before so I can’t compare it to anything better so I liked it 🙂
Yes I did enjoy Kirsty so much, she really knew how to make good music! But I also have to admit that I like Bette Midler too 🙂
So You mean I’m not mean enough? Because I’m not payed the big buckjs 🙂 🙂 🙂

Christer,
I was taking responsibility for being a musical meanie – the comment about big bucks was just an expression of speech and not intended to reflect the income of anyone in the KTCC family 🙂
I did see that Swedish Lena has a whole album of Lennie covers and I am living in fear of more of the same.
Like you I think that Kirsty was special. I love the album Tropical Brainstorm, especially England 2 Columbia 0. When a version is so definitive, such as Kirsty’s “In these shoes”, I don’t move very easily in to the world of a cover version even if it is one of im6’s favorites.

My Dear Hedley,
For you, I chose not to post Lennie though I really do like his version of his own song. I have no idea who Lena is. I went looking for covers and found this. I didn’t even care to look her up. I figured you’d prefer Lennie to Lena and quit your carping about poor Mr. Cohen.
Yes, indeed, admirable restraint.

MDH,
Christer is right-meanie!

I must admit that I never have heard about this woman before and still she’s Swedish 🙂 It seems he’s gottenm great reviews what ever she has done.
Liked this one very much!

Christer,
She is totally new to me as well. It was a hunt through e-music for covers of this song that found her.
I think we all had to do some hunting.

This singer is new to me and I’ve just listened to more of her songs on YouTube and her website. I like her voice, but most of the musical arrangements are too corny for me. Thanks for introduction.

Birgit,
It was happenstance to find her. I scrolled though so many covers of this song. I liked her voice.

Birgit,
I hope you will join my rapidly forming “Bring Back Lennie” campaign.
August 27, 2013 at 5:55 pm
Hedley, not really. But after a TV evening with awful soccer (Schalke-Thessaloniki) and a B-movie with zombie sheep threatening the world, Lennie doesn’t sound too bad 😉

Birgit
As you know I have actually been to Veltins Arena. zombie sheep sounds….Swedish. It’s time to prepare for Mr Cohen’s birthday
August 27, 2013 at 11:16 pm
Birgit,
I have actually seen that sheep movie!

My Dear Hedley,
Had I posted Lennie, I believe I would have been excoriated. Past postings lead me to that conclusion. That you are leading a Bring Back Lennie campaign astonishes me. Can you say Wishy-Washy?

I prefer fickle.
August 27, 2013 at 11:15 pm
MDH,
Of course you do. It’s denotation is far less like jello than fickle.
