No good place to post this, so this will have to do. And I’ve gotta hurry so I beat Hedley to the punch (but I’ve gotta thank him for reminding me). Happy birthday number seven-zero, Mick Jagger!
From being framed by Pilcher, to the Mars Bar, to hillside blues, the Stones aggravated parents everywhere and somehow emerged to attracting crowds and selling live music on iTunes. Everyone has their favorite Stones song but not their favorite Stone, unlike the Beatles.
Exile on Main Street is brilliant – Happy Birthday Sir Michael Philip Jagger OBE
MDH,
The numbers in his entourages are staggering but who they are is almost more staggering. I wouldn’t have expected, “The travelling caravan will include international tax consultants, immigration lawyers, accountants, marketeers and merchandising specialists.”
It’s true, and I never gave it any thought. I like the Stones, all of the Stones.
Stop being so negative, remember Lennie won song writer of the year AND artist of the year at Canada’s 2013 Juno awards.
This award winner has earned the right to the ultimate accolade – His exclusive KTCC birthday celebration on September 21. A honor accorded so very few. Mick turns 70 and gets nothing except a nod from im6
I am fully expecting a long narrative on Kat, Gracie, Lennie and Ghana and an excellent selection of Lennie tunes.
I’m so sorry that I’ll be unable to join in the festivities due to a previous commitment. I’ll be slitting my wrists that day. A much more cheerful activity than listening to Lenny.
I was recommending the site (1heckofaguy); not just the song. The Austin Lounge Lizards envision Lenny working as a mechanic for lyrical inspiration and then incorporate many of his titles into the song. I don’t know they intended to sound like Mr. C., but rather to mock him. Perhaps you’ll like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ebf6hgtQJBo#at=11

im6,
That can’t be. No way!! How can one of 60’s favorites now be 70?

im6/Kat,
One of the most interesting aspects of Jagger is his role in changing the economic dynamics and musician shares of royalties and income.

Kat, yes it’s like “who is your favorite Lennie Cohen”
Jagger’s financial management has benefited a lot more than The Rolling Stoned

MDH,
Poor Lennie-he never gets a break!

September 21 could be an all Lennie KTCC, music, reflections from TeamKat and I will be super positive lauding the brilliance of Sisters of Mercy

MDH,
I love that song and I am also partial to Suzanne and So Long, Marianne, all from the album Leonard Cohen.

All works of a genius that should be recognized on his Birthady

MDH,
I am reeling from your complimentary Lennie comments.

MDH,
Me negative????? Who are you and what have you done with My Dear Hedley?
I will mark the calendar. The whole KTCC family is responsible for their own birthday hats!
July 27, 2013 at 9:59 am
Balloon, gifts, KTCC goodie bags, it will be something special for Lennies 79th.

Oh please come im6, the party won’t be the same without you. Lennierock doesn’t always make you want to jump off a cliff.
July 27, 2013 at 11:48 am
My Dear Hedley,
It will be a spectacular event. I’ll decorate and have a beautiful cake done at the bakery, maybe with a few nuns on it.
Costumes are not required though a Lennie hat might be a nice gesture.
July 27, 2013 at 11:49 am
im6,
It just wouldn’t be a party without you. I don’t care if you sit in the corner and glare. Your presence alone will be enough!!
July 27, 2013 at 11:49 am
im6,
There must be a Lennie tune you like. I’ll play it just for you-let me know. The same goes for you My Dear Hedley!!
July 27, 2013 at 11:55 am
Any thing Lennie rules, rivers, nuns, Suzannes, it’s all spectacular. We could play cool games like “Lennie says” or Lennie musical chairs
I do hope im6 comes even if he does have to sit in a corner
July 27, 2013 at 12:38 pm
MDH,
I just thought he’d be more comfortable in the corner where he could look with distain at the rest of us revelers.
I like Lennie musical chairs and pin the hat on Lennie is another good one.
July 27, 2013 at 2:04 pm
Pin the hat on the Lennie is my favorite
July 27, 2013 at 2:11 pm
MDH,
Then you will be the first to play!!

im6,
Sadly the Pancake song is no longer available. Nope, this does not remind me (at least his voice doesn’t) of Lennie.

im6,
I did look through the site before I even checked out the song. I really like The Austin Lounge Lizards
I am laughing right out loud here!!
