Morpfy,
We went to the drive-in often. We never bought a thing at the refreshment stand: my father popped corn, made drinks and bought candy. Sometimes we’d go to the playground during intermission, but most times we’d stay in the car and watch this and many like it.

OMG! Carrol’s!! First fast food I can recall, circa early 1960’s. Their westerly expansion made it to Troy, NY, Yep, $.47 for a meal deal. I believe their buildings became Burger King’s, maintaining that New England connection.

Same here-first fast food I ever had. It was in Stoneham, Mass. The building is no longer there, and the Burger King is across the street.
