Big Rick has been touring the Eastern part of the United States, he and Mrs Big Rick slugged down 3,500 miles as they hit Atlanta, Biloxi and Kansas, their circle ending up in Rochester late last night
And so Big Rick and I set sail this morning down the rural roads (nice name for dirt) that lead us to Stoney Creek to circle the lake. On Meade Road (very rural and rutted) the muffler parted company with Big Rick’s Envoy which is carrying a modest 200,000 miles. We left the vehicle to kick it into the bushes to be retrieved on the way home.
We pulled in to Stoney, to start our clockwise navigation surrounded by all the attractions that are, well, attractions. A mile down to road, Big Rick was not feeling so good. We stopped the bikes, turned around and headed back. Stopping on our way home to retrieve the exhaust our Sunday came to an abrupt end.
So Maggie and I went to inspect a property, I read some reports, threw the work into to back of my car and settled in for the British Open and the Tour de France both calling for an English victory. Meanwhile at Lords England is handing it to the Australians which is very much appreciated by those of us that remember the dark days of Lillee and Thompson.
Big Rick is on the sofa, Mrs Big Rick is cutting the lawn, he is ok. It’s all a circle, heck Joni even got married here. I love Big Rick, he is my friend.
My Dear Hedley,
Big Rick had himself a great vacation.
I know those rural roads well having ridden my motorcycle on many in Ghana. It seems that muffler owned nothing to Big Rick. I think it deserved a fine burial with words and all over the grave.
I have been resting from the exertions and revelry of yesterday. I even postponed the dump run, glad I hadn’t told Gracie we were going.
Did the local channels consult you before they planned their sports line-up? It seems to be so!!
Kat,
big Rick rented a car and drove for eight days.
Aussies thrashed, Phil someone wins the British Open and Chris Froomes time is coming soon in Paris. need to check my Bengals.
Bengals win, England pound the Aussies, Froome takes the Tour. I’m exhausted. Busy working new “boxsets”, Marc Bolan, Nilsson, Mike Oldfield, Van and even the Beach Boys (jump in im6)
I hope Gracie arose from her slumbers to watch the bomb detecting dogs on 60 minutes. Maggie was mighty impressed and wished she didn’t have a torn meniscus.

MDH,
I am impressed with that 8 day journey. No wonder he is on the couch!!
I have watched nothing today. I am still in pain from the Sox loss last night!

MDH,
Your day must feel jubilant! All went well.
I have been a sloth. I think I overdid yesterday with all the walking and carrying so I had two naps!!
Gracie joined me each time!!

My Dear Hedley,
Alas, Gracie missed them, but I didn’t. Gracie was on the deck barking-protecting me in her own way!
Gracie would have been upset knowing she could never be a detecting dog. Boxers don’t have great smellers because of their pushed-in faces.
