To be honest your bad weather is my luck if that means you post another interesting version of “Stormy Weather” 😉
I love that song since I heard Billie Holiday sing it -best version ever- and it’s my favorite chorus song, though we don’t sing it anymore. (Chorus video linked in name, but it’s old and I’ve already sent it before.)
This version is new to me and I like it, so thanks for your rain and this song.

Birgit!! I had no idea that you sang in such a talented chorus! That’s really a beautiful arrangement of Stormy Weather.
@ Kat: Thanks for posting this one. I really think that Kay Starr is one of the most talented of the white singers who sang jazz standards. She also does a surprisingly good version of R & B group the Clovers’ ‘Fool, Fool, Fool.’

Marie,
You are most welcome. I love this song and love Kay’s version.

Marie and Kat, thank you! We won the german barbershop chorus competition with that song and I’m one of the bass singers for nearly 20 years.

Birgit,
I love every one of the videos and the songs you sing. This song is lovely!

Birgit,
I have the Billie version but Billie was one of the reasons my blog was taken down by Blogger for infringement so I’m afraid to play her anymore. This, though, is a great version. I love the young Kay Starr.
I have a few more versions-hope for more rain!!

Kat, Birgit and any other Coffee regulars who happen to read this:
There’s no point in posting much on my old blog until I see whether it’s going to be given the axe in the next few days or not. However, I’ve posted one song that I think you guys might enjoy. Here’s the link:

Marie,
I love it!! What a great song.
It is a source of amazement to me how varied my musical tastes have become. I think doing Coffee got me outside my musical comfort zone.

Hi Kat,
I love being introduced to songs that I haven’t heard before (and that happens quite often here on Coffee.)
I hope you’ll drop in at mine when it’s ready.

Marie,
Of course I’ll drop by. I love the music you choose!

Marie, I love “Blue Skies”! I hope your blog is still online tomorrow as I don’t have time now to explore more of your blog songs. Today we celebrate my friend’s birthday. I have problems to comment on blogspot, I just tried, but probably failed.

Hi Birgit,
I’ll ask Kat if she’d mind letting you know where I am as soon as I’m ready at the new location. All of the posts will be re-upped, so you won’t have missed anything.

Good morning, Kat and Birgit,
I’m so glad that you enjoyed the song!
I’ll leave it posted, but Blogger might be deleting my account in the next three days – it’s a long story.
Birgit,
Have fun at your friend’s birthday! (I have a weakness for birthday cake, so please eat an extra piece for me.)
You’re right – your comment didn’t go through on my blog, but I appreciated this one very much.

Good Morning, Marie
Blogger deleted my first blog before I moved over to WordPress. I was in the middle of writing when it disappeared. I lost so many Coffee friends though some found me later, and I have met wonderful new ones since the move. I suggest you figure out where you might find a new home and put it on your existing blog so people can find you.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Hi Kat,
Thanks for that suggestion – it’s a good one!
I did create a WordPress blog address, but am finding it much more difficult than blogger to set up. It might just be me, but I don’t find it nearly as user-friendly or straight forward. For example, when I uploaded my blogger posts, every other picture (of approximately 550) was about 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch in size. I’m having to manually go back and try to sort them out. Still, there are certainly advantages to WordPress, and I know you haven’t encountered any problems yourself. It’s also too bad that WordPress decided to insert ads right onto the blog of non-Premium users.
I’m going to set up another Blogger address, as well and wait to see what happens.
Thanks again,
Marie

Marie,
I do find WordPress easy to use. The pictures seem to size themselves though once in a while I do have to decrease a few in size. I agree about the ads, but I still like WordPress better. Blogger has that 3 strike policy. WordPress did take down one song but didn’t warn me of the end of the world the way Blogger did.
