This is a great song by that group, among their many hits
.I see todays theme is of the ocean, you might say the oceans of emotion. Oh how songs to us have that effect. I’ve been a parrothead(as they call it for years)and this song below, brings back many memories to me,It might be his best that I like.and it’s words I relate to almost to a T. Enjoy it,even if your not a big fan of his.

        Morpfy,
I like Jimmy Buffett, especially his early stuff. His later stuff is the best party music! I always seem to want to wear a woven hat and drink fruit drinks with little umbrellas.

I couldn’t get this video to open. I’ll check it on youTube!

If I’m not mistaken, this is not The Platters, but Phil Phillips (not the most recent American Idol).

        im6,
I downloaded this from e-music and it was from the Platters album Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.

Sometimes I have songs from anywhere, and they could be mislabeled, but I don’t think this one is.

im6 is correct the is Phil Phillips from 1959.

      Bluewing,
I am going to send an e-mail to e-music and see if they can confirm or correct the listing.

      Thanks!

You know how stubborn I am…. I feel certain I’m right. I can’t tell the difference between the song you posted and this: http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/phil-phillips/id18454598

      im6,
They do sound alike, but I find it difficult to understand how e-music could screw up a whole album.

  3. Bluewing Says:

    Kat,
I can’t recall The Platters (the original group not the Branson group) ever having recorded this song.
