And on the wall of my study is a framed copy of “Elite Hotel” LP inscribed “To Hedley, Sweat dreams Always Emmylou Harris”
The divine Ms Harris, and a great track from a brilliant album. I was watching the Adele special last night which used footage of Adele at the Royal Albert Hall and my mind drifted back to when I first saw Emmylou which was at the RAH – She was with The Hot Band and it was love at first sight…..and I liked her a lot as well
My Dear Hedley,
I don’t remember when I heard Emmylou. I just know I became an instant fan and was sorry that I’d missed any of her music. I hurried to catch up!
Hedley, you are right on the money. Twas the 1st LP I bought of her after a I heard one track (name escapes me now) on radio.
Have seen her in concert and she is as good as it gets.
Still think her photo on the cover of “LuxuryLiner” is one of the best and the music inside is superb.

Totally agree with your assessment of Luxury Liner, I was also a big fan of Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town, even with the over sappy Dolly Parton song “To Daddy”
After all these year with Ms Harris, my favorite remains “Wrecking Ball”
Met Emmylou a couple of times but never had the chance to ask her about stuff about being part of the Little Feat “Feats dont fail me now” sessions or Dylan’s “Desire”. Guess I was way too star struck 🙂
