Hedy West’s father, Don West was an interesting man. He co-founded the Highlander Folk School at Monteagle, Tennessee, wrote poetry and organized mineworkers. By the way, if you haven’t heard them, sheck out Alabama Shakes, particularly the song Hold On.

Thanks, Bob
I went hunting and found out a lot about Don West. I didn’t realize Hedy has passed away.
I found Alabama Shakes on youTube
