I was watching a you-tube clip last night where Lefty sang this and noted that the lyrics, “dance, drink beer & wine’ had mysteriously changed to “dance to the music fine”
Glad to see the moral watchdogs were on the ball LOL

It amazes me that beer and wine didn’t make it through, but I suspect the moral watchdogs weren’t too bright. Look at all those obvious double entendres that slid on by them!

They were all a bit touchy back then. You’d remember the old song “My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It”. Hank Williams had a huge hit with it but when he performed the song on the Opry, he was supposed to sing “can’t buy no milk” instead of “can’t buy no beer”. Hank overcame this piece of stupidity by cupping his ear to the audience and letting them supply the word & singing nothing himself.
