Pussywillows, Cat-Tails: Gordon Lightfoot

MediaFire got an infringement notice for the Billie Holiday song I posted so I deleted the song. WordPress was not notified so I guess it was the link which caused the problem. Hard to know which artist attracts notice, besides the Stookinator.

  1. This is a robot. It don’t know nothing about music. Don’t have any ears. When it spots music, it goes : AAAAAAGGGGRRR ! COPYRIGHT VIOLATION ! It’s an Internet circus.

      Mario,
It was that internet circus that erased my blogger account.

For some artists, I would think exposure to their music would be wonderful, maybe even cause some sales.

      • Yes you have. It’s here I heard about Kate Rusby for the first time. Have many of her records, now,
I mean it’s a circus because it had become anyhing, A friend of Quebec city was presenting vinyl rips of 45’s of the 1960’s, all of them pretty rare, ou of print for more than 40 years, and he was shut down by Mediafire “for copyright violations.” Same thing for a man from Belgium showing out of prints folk EP & LP’s from 1950 to 1970. Three times he was shut down !

    Mario,
I used to visit that folk LP blog and knew it had been shut down. I’ll have to revisit if he’s back up again.

I’m glad you bought Kate’s albums-she is such a favorite of mine.

My goodness, I can’t believe I’d nearly forgotten about Gordon. He would certainly not like that from one of his biggest fans. And for such a long time, too. I remember listening to him before he became popular in the US. That was a long time ago. I’ll have to dig out my albums. I started to convert them all over to CD at one time. I don’t know where that project stands. I’m sure it isn’t done.

I’ll have to work on that. I’d better work on finding them first. I think (hope) they are still in Montana. LOL

      Carl,
I remember when I saw Gordon in concert. He sang all of my favorite songs, and I was thrilled. He hasn’t appeared here for a while so I like to keep him in peoples’ minds-he deserves to be heard over and over!
