And surprise me and your other KTCC addicts you did Kat. Who would have expected The Clash to star on KTCC.
London Calling was the album of the era. A band at the absolute top of their craft with four sides of incredible songs, from “Rudie can’t fail” to the so called hidden track “Train in vain”….this was the disc.
Loud, defiant, brilliant.
im6,
I know as a former literature teacher that there are only a certain number of possible plots for any book and most have been rehashed again and again with inly a few individual pieces by each author so it comes as no surprise that even album covers have roots in earleir covers.
The album cover was a quite deliberate nod to the Elvis album but Simonon’s photo was a little more direct.
If KTCCAddicts were lucky enough to catch the last Gorillaz tour they would have seen both Jones and Simonon….yup we saw them at The Fox and it was an amazing show

My Dear Hedley,
I don’t know much about The Clash-this is, in fact, their only album I know anything about.
All thse little surprises keep KTCC addicts coming back for more!

Yes, The Clash was a bit of a surprise for Coffee. Re: the album cover. Yes, it’s a great cover, but, like much of the music contained within, it has its roots something earlier:
