Lemon Haired Ladies: Dory Previn
Dory Previn, the lyricist for three Oscar-nominated songs who as a composer and performer mined her difficult childhood, bouts of mental illness and a very public divorce to create a potent and influential personal songbook, died on Tuesday at her home in Southfield, Mass. She was 86.

Kat,
Can’t believe she was 86. Guess I still remember what she looked like in her heyday.
Thanks for the 3 cuts. Ain’t heard her in a long, long time.

Pete,
That she was 86 has thrown all of us. Like you, I remember her as young.
I doubt her music has been played much in the last several years. She had been played on Coffee before but not in a while. I’m sorry her death was the prompt to play her music again.

Any “prompt” one gets must be a good omen Kat.
BTW, on a totally different subject, have you seen Woody Allen’s “Midnight In Paris”?

Pete,
I habven’t seen it yet-I think it’s already out of the local theaters. Woody was a favorite of mine for a long time then he had a string of not-so-great movies. I know this is great and been nominated for an Oscar so I figure I’ll see it On Dmeand on TV.
I believe in omens!
