Of all the musicians I would love to meet in person, is somehow given that chance…Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Teddy Thompson, Ray LaMontagne…I think I would pass on all of them for an opportunity to have a cup of coffee and a conversation with Iris DeMent.
Here’s one specific paragraph….” She quipped about adjusting to her home with Brown in rural Iowa — “it’s really lonesome and creepy” — and her mother’s response to a question on a medical checklist asking if she’d ever lost any organs — “Nope, but I gave away a good piano once.”

Larry,
I think she would be down to earth and the conversation would be filled with great stories and some laughs.

Kat,
I believe you’re exactly right. Here’s a link to a newspaper article about a concert she and her husband performed back in November.
