Rick,
Most people know her for Brand New Key and that’s about it. They, like you, would be surprised how long and diverse her career has been. I always think this song is one example of that.
Urrrghhh , I remember rather foolishly, buying “The Four Sides of Melanie” on vinyl. Really unplayable and somewhere in the basement languishing next to Leonard.
BTW did you see ol Leonard is putting out a box set of all his Columbia recordings mastered ? Music to slit your wrists to.
My Dear Hedley,
Are you sure that wasn’t your name on the pre-purchase list. I swear I saw it though I think you were calling yourself Hedley Smith-Jones so you wouldn’t get caught!
I’ve always loved that song, and I know I’ve told you she lived somewhat close to me so we would go and see her. Music to slit your wrists to– how funny. I may use that someday. I just saw a Cohen record I purchased last year… but damn I got to get a decent stereo.
How in the world could any one not like at Cohen? Even if they didn’t like him signing, he has written amazing songs. I thought music to slit your wrists to was funny! Ah, the morning me.

Just looked up her Wikipedia article. Wow. She did a LOT more than I knew she did. Thanks.

Lori,
Hedley is such a Cohen hater he never holds back!
I have always been a Melanie fan and have a few vinyls from the 60’s, and I do have a stereo, not great but still with a pretty decent sound.

Lori,
Hedley groans if ever I post Leonard. it’s not his songs but it’s Leonrad himself!
