Henny Youngman quote
February 28, 2011 at 5:55 pm
Oh, my God, that’s a St. Joe nun- in Philly, they taught in a lot of schools. I had two aunts who were St. Joe nuns, and in that time, they never told the Sisters where they would be teaching until the day before they left. Every first day of the year at school, I always held my breath – to me, the worst thing in the world( and I really don’t know why) was the idea that one of my aunts would end up at my school.
Thanks for posting that picture- it brought back memories.

Marge,
Yes, she is. I too recognized her right away too from the way the top of her habit, the wimple, squared. I had St. Joe’s in high school in Arlington, MA. I thought they were great. In elementary school I had Sisters of Providence.
