Yep–poor old Ben Gunn. It’s too bad he couldn’t be at our house tonight; at my daughter’s instigation, we stopped at the artisanal cheese shop on the way home from school and got six assorted quarter-pounds which, with a couple of bâtards from the bakery next door, was our supper.

When I got back from Boston, I was too tired to make anything so I supped on cheese and bread as well.
