Fabulous rendition! Typical BB King. I always love his vocals though he’s better feted for his guitar playing..

Cuidado,
I love Mary’s opening. That familiar voice sets the tone for B.B.King’s vocals which compliment her so well. Then we hear that guitar…..

With Hollywood making movies based on much lesser songs & concepts, I’m surprised nobody has ever tried to turn “House of the Rising Sun” into a film. The song is open to so many possibilities.

Buzz,
I figure several movies have had pieces of that plot, and you’re right about the possibilities.

Hmmm. Well, well, well. I’d never thought of searching for this before now.
House of the Rising Sun (1987)

(not well thought of by the reviewer)
Bordello: House of the Rising Sun (1985)

And this one is only oblique, as the song is over the closing credits, but it stars folks we might have seen before.
Casino (1995)

Rick,
It’s good to know that even adult movies have heart, “The beloved owner of a New Orleans bordello dies of a heart attack…” I loved the review of House of the Rising Sun, “‘Though short, yet tedious.”
That soundtrack had the most varied music, some of them really great songs. I don’t remember the movie but the music is a great indicator of the time line of the plot.
