      Peter,
This is an Irish Carol so the Celtic Women are perfect. It is the oldest Irish Carol dating to the 15th or 16th century.

I have been to Wexford so this song so this song is a bit special to me.

I too have been to Wexford, around 1962. A school pal and I cycled from our homes in Yorkshire, caught the Dublin ferry in Liverpool, then did a circuit of Ireland. We went down the east coast, across to Cork, Blarney Castle, up to Tipperary and Cashel, then through Abbeyleix where my mother’s mother was from, and returned via Dublin.

        Peter,
We also took the boat but landed in Wexford where we stayed for a few days. We traveled in Ireland for over a week as we had an Irish rail pass. Riding that train, I saw more sheep than I had in my entire life, even now. We took the night bus to Edinburgh and stayed there as well. We went back to Ireland and travelled some more then used our rail pass on the bus to the airport. I went back to Ireland one more time with my parents, my grandfather and two aunts. Now that one a trip!!
