I had an older uncle who wrote up a personal ‘family history’ of his childhood outside of Hartford CT. He told of the sledding hill that his family lived on. The town workers would come to clear the road after snowfalls (horse plow and shovels) and as soon as they were gone, ALL the kids on the street would shovel the snow back into the road so they could go sledding–your picture is perfect!
J,
That picture is just like us going down the hill I lived on. They never plowed as well back then so the street still had a layer of snow. It would get slick and hard and fast. We just hoped no cars were on the cross street below the hill.
