As the regulars at KTCC know, November 7th represents a very strange day . Today Joni Mitchell celebrates her 80th birthday and it is also the day that Lenny Cohen left us.
Very strange really given how much dialog surrounds the two.
I was chatting with a record producer friend of mine and we were making the case for the best album of the last century. He suggested Bowie’s “Hunky Dory” and Joni’s “Court and Spark”. Other than add “London Calling” I could not argue with his selection
The Joni Mitchell Archives Volume 3 contains some stunning outtakes and versions of Court and Spark as well as really cool stuff for “Hissing”
MDH,
I was glad to find the picture of them together. I hadn’t seen it before. I was struck by how young they look. I was also struck by the odd coincidence of the date.
I won’t differ with the choices for best album. I have personal choices and many of Joni’s are among them.
I only have Volume 1. When I am in the money again, I’ll get 2 then 3.
