I always thought it was exciting.
We did the same thing every time. After we heard the train coming, the penny went on the track. We’d move back, get down low, but stay close enough to feel the breeze as the train went by us, part of the excitement. Finally, we’d pick up the penny hoping it was really flat. Sometimes, though, the penny flipped off the tracks which is why we moved back.
